Bubbling stench of tests and homework….yummmm

Praise be to the Gods of education and ambition for allowing me the opportunity to return from collegic ignorance and embrace a higher power. Of which I obviously mean college. There remains some uncertainty, specifically surrounding the ever-illusive financial aid process, although many of the flags have already been pre-eliminated. Fortunately CSC subscribes to a rich tuition reimbursement policy, for which I will benefit greatly from, rendering all costs incurred throughout my educational battle completely covered.

I have enrolled at the University of Phoenix to complete a Bachelors of Science in Information Technology with an estimated completion timeframe of two years; thanks to the intermittent courses taken at Pima.

The last year has been spent engorging my relatively thick scull with anything resembling computer science and technology. I have experienced a tremendously large growth in both knowledge and motivation from my journey of self-education, which has lead me to my present state and desire for higher learning. In the past I had subscribed to the hollow cultural assumption that one MUST attend college immediately upon high school graduation, and having been unable to meet that goal felt as If I had failed in some way to properly educate myself.

After abandoning that false predisposition and trudging ahead in my immensely fulfilling quest to self learn, I found that the incredible motivation I possessed was focused not on solely obtaining a degree and therefore a career, but rather strictly gaining as much information as possible to feed my appetite in the subject. Once this realization occurred, I dove head first into my passion for computers paying absolutely no attention to school, careers or anything of the sort.

It wasn’t until recently that I was struck with the desire to further my collegic education, mainly due to the lack of efficient resources to continue the rampant consumption of information I crave. I’m not saying they don’t exist, but the balance was tipped regarding the availability and cost effectiveness in favor of University training.

Hence, here I stand. Mind open and eyes wide, ready to launch full throttle into hopefully a long and fulfilling journey into the next stage. Wish me luck!
